Lianna norris
Lianna was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she danced and competed until she graduated from high school. Attending East Kentwood High School, she was a member of their award-winning Varsity Dance Team. Dancing both in a studio and scholastic setting helped make Lianna a well-rounded competitor. Transitioning into college, Lianna found solace in an organization called “JSU Dance Ensemble” present at Jackson State University in Jackson, MS (her now alma mater). With this organization, she was able to expand her dance ability, even gaining an opportunity to dance with her college’s band at the famous “Honda Battle of the Bands” classic. While attending JSU, Lianna was able to set choreography for various on-campus pageants, the JSU Dazzlers basketball dance team and even the JSU J-Settes Marching Band Dance Team. Post-graduation, Lianna returned home and began coaching the East Kentwood Varsity Dance Team alongside Jessica Couture, focusing on their Hip Hop Dances. From 2015-2018, they were able to take a small team with ranges from limited to extraordinary skill levels and abilities, and turn them into an all-around, top-scoring high school dance team. Since ending her time as a dance team coach, Lianna has expanded her choreography to various high school dance teams in the Greater Grand Rapids area as well as collegiate teams including the Davenport University Dance Team. Currently, Lianna continues her Hip Hop training and choreography, which includes traveling to hub cities to take classes, passionately believing that the best teachers are forever students.
